In 1995 Manu Kurz began his career as a film composer with the feature films THE JAPANESE ARE BETTER LOVERS and CITY TALK, followed by other movies such as for example SCHLARAFFENLAND / Buena Vista International with Franka Potente and WOMEN DO NOT LIE with Martina Gedeck .
Manu continued working regularly for TV film productions. He composed for example the soundtrack for UNDER SUSPICION series on ZDF with Senta Berger (Adolf Grimme Price in 2003 and the German TV Award 2003), the TATORT: AUSSER GEFECHT / BR, K3 - KRIPO HAMBURG / NDR and GEHT NICHT GIBT'S NICHT / ZDF, with which Manu was nominated for the German TV Award 2003 in the category "Best Music". For the second time he had been nominated for that price in 2007 for the music to "The End of the Ice Age" with Veronica Ferres and Detlef Buck.
Manu is also one of the most sought after composers for commercials. His references include WERNESGRÜNER beer (recorded with full orchestra), Viag Intercom LOOP, for which he received the Art Directors Club (ADC) - Award in 2001 for best music, ESSO, JACOBS CORONATION, BMW, ROVER, CONTINENTAL, CLAUS THALER, and many others.
Besides his passion for innovative electronic sounds, it is important for Manu to always work with musicians and orchestras. "This is the only way one can find the right musical color of a film and implement it."
Manu is a member of the German Film Academy and the German Composers Club.
